Census Bureau: 78.1 percent of people in Kauai County were old enough to vote in 2019

Of the 71,769 citizens living in Kauai County in 2019, 56,014 were old enough to vote as of Jan. 26, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

The bureau reported 28,591 of those people were female and 27,423 were male.

Data for this story was compiled from the bureau’s American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.

Statistical data for 2020 will be released later this year.
