–Road closure scheduled for portion of Olohena Road Oct. 24 to Oct. 28–
WAILUA – The Department of Public Works Roads Division is announcing that a portion of Olohena Road, from Kamalu Road to Waipouli Road, in Wailua will be closed from Oct. 24 to Oct. 28, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting.
The full road closure is necessary to allow the Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative and the Roads Division to conduct tree-cutting and debris removal around utility lines.
Flaggers will be positioned on Olohena Road at the intersections of Ka‘apuni Road, Kamalu Road, and Waipouli Road, assisting motorists to the detour route of Waipouli Road.
Motorists shall follow all construction signs, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to get to destinations. An electronic message board has been installed to inform motorists.
