On June 24, 2010, Amber Jackson did not show up for work at the Kauai office of Hawaii State Teachers Association. A pig hunter’s dogs found her remains on July 3, 2010 in a remote location on the east side of Kauai. Amber was 57 years old at the time of her death. This year marks the 12 year anniversary of Amber Jackson’s disappearance and death.
The Office of the Prosecuting Attorney continues to work actively with the Kauai Police Department to follow up on new leads and possible untapped evidentiary sources. A law enforcement team from the Kauai Police Department and our Office recently revisited the scene where Ms. Jackson’s remains were discovered. Unfortunately, we are not currently at a place where we are able to pursue criminal charges. We encourage anyone with information regarding the death or disappearance of Amber Jackson to contact our Investigators directly at (808) 241-2882 or the Kauai Police Department. Our Office will continue to actively participate in this investigation until the individual(s) responsible for Amber Jackson’s death are brought to justice.
