--Firefighters extinguish brush fire in Līhu‘e Saturday evening--
LĪHU‘E – Kaua‘i Fire Department firefighters responded to a brush fire Saturday evening in Līhu‘e.
No injuries were reported, and no structures were threatened. Shortly before 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, firefighters were dispatched to a brush fire reported near Nau Place in Līhu‘e.
Firefighters with the Līhu‘e and Kapa‘a fire stations, Tanker 1, Rescue 3, Puakea Golf Course staff, and the on-duty Battalion Chief responded to the incident.
According to a preliminary report, KFD personnel arrived on scene shortly before 6:55 p.m. and discovered a 30-by-30-foot brush fire at Puakea Golf Course. With the assistance of Puakea Golf Course staff, firefighters gained access through the golf course and quickly extinguished the blaze.
The cause of the fire is undetermined.
The scene was cleared shortly before shortly after 8:20 p.m.
