--Red Flag Warning for Kaua‘i County in effect Nov. 21--
The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the leeward areas of Kaua‘i County to be in effect on Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The warning may be extended, dropped, or modified as conditions develop.
A Red Flag Warning means critical fire weather conditions are either occurring or will occur shortly. The combination of dry fuels, strong and gusty trade winds, and low relative humidity levels could produce extreme fire behavior. A Red Flag Warning does not predict new fire starts.
According to the National Weather Service, any fire that develops will likely spread rapidly in these conditions. The public should not participate in any outdoor burning.
