--Firefighters extinguish brush fire in Kalāheo Monday--
KALĀHEO – Kaua'i Fire Department firefighters responded to a brush fire in Kalāheo Monday afternoon.
No injuries were reported, and no structures were damaged.
Firefighters with the Kalāheo and Kōloa fire stations, Air 1, Tanker 1, Rescue 3, personnel with Kaua‘i Coffee, and the on-duty Battalion Chief responded to the incident.
According to a preliminary report, shortly after 4 p.m. on Monday, firefighters were dispatched to a brushfire in Kalāheo, located in a wooded area south of the Kakela Makai subdivision.
With the assistance of personnel from Kaua‘i Coffee, firefighters navigated through the coffee fields, discovered a brush fire 100 yards by 600 yards, and extinguished the blaze shortly after.
The cause of the fire is undetermined.
The scene was cleared shortly after 6:50 p.m.
