The Department of Public Works and its contractor, Geolabs, Inc., announces that a portion of Waewae Road in Lāwa‘i will be closed on March 16 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting.
The closure is necessary for an engineering study for future improvements of Wawae Road. However, residents who live in the area will be allowed through.
Approximately 900 feet of Wawae Road will be closed in both directions, between 3278 Wawae Road and 3341B Wawae Road.During the closure, motorists are advised to use Kuli Road to access Wawae Road.
Please make appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary road closure and allow extra time to reach the destinations. “Local Traffic Only” and detour signs will be posted in the area.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution and drive slowly when nearing the work area. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact Aaron Wong at 808-841-5064.
